The Data Department’s mission is to consolidate company data (user, client, and internal), make it easily accessible, ensure its quality and trustworthiness, and enable teams across the company to build data-driven products, decisions, and processes.

 

The Data Engineering team is responsible for building and operating the Data Platform, the foundation that stores, processes, serves, and governs data on a scale. We design reliable data pipelines, scalable storage systems, and self-service data capabilities that power analytics, BI, and advanced data use cases across the organization.   

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate large-scale data systems that serve the entire company. You will: 

 

• Design and develop robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines (batch & streaming) 

• Build and optimize data storage and query layers (e.g. ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Data Lake/Lakehouse) 

• Develop reliable data services that support analytics, BI, and internal tools 

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and observability across the platform 

• Contribute to metadata, data governance, and data discoverability initiatives 

• Research, design, and optimize complex components of the data platform for performance and scalability 

• Participate in deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production data systems 

• Write high-quality, well-tested, well-documented code 

• Review peers’ code and contribute to engineering best practices 

• Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Product teams, and Infrastructure teams on data-driven projects.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Must-have skills

 

• Strong experience with Python / Java / Go / C++ 
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design 
• Strong experience working in Linux/UNIX environments 
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) 
• Experience working with databases or OLAP systems (e.g., ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, etc.) 
• Understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts 
• Ability to design systems for high throughput and scalability 
• Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve 

 

Nice-to-have skills

 

• Experience with Kafka, Airflow, NiFi, or similar data tools
• Experience with large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with data lakehouse concepts (Parquet, Iceberg, object storage)
• Understanding of data quality, metadata, and data governance practices
• Experience supporting BI/Analytics teams
• Interest in exploring the meaning and impact of data
• Good communication skills in English and Vietnamese
• Experience or interest in machine learning / advanced analytics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
