We are looking for talented interns to join our Search Engineering team at Cốc Cốc.

 

Cốc Cốc Search is integrated into the Cốc Cốc Browser, optimizing search results for Vietnamese users and helping them find accurate information quickly. As the volume of online data continues to grow exponentially, building a high-quality search engine becomes increasingly challenging and impactful.

 

As a Search Engineering Intern, you will work on core components of the search engine such as crawler, indexer, ranking, and query processing systems, contributing to products that serve millions of users and billions of search requests.

 

  JOB DESCRIPTION

 

• Support building, testing, and improving components of the search engine (crawler, indexer, searcher)
• Work with large-scale data systems to collect, process, and analyze web data
• Assist in developing and optimizing search algorithms and ranking logic
• Participate in improving query understanding and search relevance for Vietnamese users
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code (primarily in C++/Java)
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams to deliver new search features
• Contribute to technical discussions, internal sharing, and learning activities

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

• 3rd or 4th-year student in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
• Available for a minimum 6-month internship (full-time preferred)
• Strong passion for backend systems, search technologies, or large-scale data processing
• Good foundation in data structures and algorithms
• Basic knowledge of C++, Java
• Familiarity with Linux environment is a plus
• Interest in search systems, information retrieval, or machine learning is a big advantage
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
• Ability to read and write technical documents in English
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and teamwork mindset
