Let’s follow Cốc Cốc and meet Lê Thanh Bình – a vibrant Data Scientist born in 2002. It's easy to tell Bình is a true Gen Z: youthful, approachable, and full of witty, high-energy charm. 

 

Bình’s journey to Cốc Cốc began quite unexpectedly through a university friend who later became his colleague. 

 

“My friend was already working at Cốc Cốc and introduced me to the job here. I found it really interesting, so I applied right away. Didn’t expect to actually land the job!” Bình recalls with a smile. 

As the first company Bình joined after graduation, Cốc Cốc has been like a real-life training ground, where everything was new from workflows and technologies to the professional working style of one of Vietnam’s top product companies. 

 

“At first, I was overwhelmed. But thanks to the help of talented, enthusiastic teammates who are always willing to share, I’ve learned so much. It really felt like I got an upgrade.” 

 

From his very first lines of code and endless log scrolls to solving complex data problems, Bình gradually found his footing and became a vital part of the team. 

 

Team leader Đoàn Ngọc Giang Nam proudly says: “If I had to use two words to describe Bình, they’d be: hardworking and cool. In over a year at Cốc Cốc, he’s grown significantly not only in his technical skills but also in teamwork.” 

Cốc Cốc isn’t just a workplace it’s where Bình embraced a much healthier lifestyle compared to his university days. 

 

“Everyone here is super active, so I couldn’t just sit still. Anh Hòa got me into badminton, Anh Nam and Anh Thế pulled me into running, and the team even goes to the gym during lunch breaks. Thanks to regular workouts and a healthy diet, I’ve lost 30kg and feel much more balanced than when I first joined.” 

 

Thanks to that transformation, going to work has become less of a burden and more of a journey of growth, self-care, and joy. 

As a Data Scientist at Cốc Cốc a “Made in Vietnam” browser and search engine, Bình gets to tackle some pretty tough challenges. 

 

“Competing with Google in Vietnam means that our team has to constantly deal with difficult problems. But that’s also what makes Cốc Cốc such a great learning environment and an incredible opportunity for growth.” 

 

When asked what he loves most about Cốc Cốc, Bình doesn't hesitate: “It’s the culture of embracing new ideas. One time, I proposed a new approach for the Search Shopping Ads feature, which displays shopping ads directly on the search results page. Developing this feature was a huge challenge spanning data processing, user behavior modeling, and system performance optimization. But after 9 months, it launched successfully and was well-received by our customers and partners. Being trusted with something so big was such an amazing feeling.” 

From a fresh graduate to a rising Data Scientist, Bình has become a young professional living true to his passion. His journey at Cốc Cốc is not just a career milestone it’s a story of growth and self-improvement. 

 

“I believe choosing the right workplace is key not just for career development, but also to keep the passion alive. I hope fellow Gen Z-ers soon find a job they love and an ideal working environment where they can learn, contribute, and fully thrive.
