“I have learned a lot from my team and other teams’ colleagues; been empowered to operate many important systems; been given the freedom to develop myself like I want to be. Sometimes, I think I’d taken a lot of time to adapt to the manager role. But as time went on, I realized what I needed to do to advance the growth of my team: Helping all members to be better every day, working smoothly with other departments, and being responsible for the outcomes of my team’s work - The job is really challenging and it’ll be difficult to learn without having the experiences.

 

At the start, I knew that I wasn’t the best fit for the role of a leader/manager. Instead, I excel at growing professionally, being a “senior” in every aspect of my work. But everyone encourages me to accept the new challenge, from my bosses and everyone else. Honestly saying, that support from all of my colleagues and bosses, really makes me happy - and I consider that to be an acknowledgment of my ability. Eventually, I did accept the challenge, and through the course of 11 years with Cốc Cốc, since the beginning of the product’s development, I constantly re-innovated myself - a “New me” every time: From a regular Sysadmin member to the Team Leader, then Deputy Head of Infrastructure & Support, Head of Infrastructure & Support (IS). And in the October of 2022, I officially achieved the C-level and became the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Cốc Cốc.

 

 

This is really a new experience for me because now, I’m not just a “regular” manager. Besides applying what I’ve learned in managing in many positions, the job of a CISO is also expected to be: building up, optimizing the Cốc Cốc system even more, especially in the Cyber Security aspect, and directly spreading these amazing values to the huge group of users of Cốc Cốc. That’s why my CyberSecurity & IS Team (CIS) and I will put our best efforts to complete excellently the task we’re assigned for. With the new age of a new CIS team, in which most of the members are young, passionate, and full of the capability to grow more, I do believe that this team will help Cốc Cốc to reach out to the world, and they will accompany me to get through the toughest of challenges are waiting ahead.”
