More than just a gen Z, the young Hoan Tran is also a colorful Blink, a talented System Administrator, and moreover, he is a Cốc Cốc-er, who is willing to face challenges and live by the spirit of a true “explorer”.
So, what is his Cốc Cốc story to tell?
Why are we so compatible?
“Knowing Cốc Cốc for a long time, I’d never thought that I would get the chance to work at the “best technology company” at 243A De La Thanh street ^^, working alongside this amazing “explorer” to strive more, be more for the happiness of Vietnamese users. Turning back to the last April, when I was surfing Facebook and knew about the Linux Fundamentals Course of Cốc Cốc, suddenly, I found my “never-ending learning spirit of a Gen Z” surge up, registered for the course, and started learning more for my career.
And through the course, experiencing the working cultures, and engaging with the people at Cốc Cốc, I knew that this place is a perfect fit for me. Taking my chance, I applied for the Junior System Administrator position at Cốc Cốc, and my journey at the “Make in Vietnam” tech company began…
My first impression of Cốc Cốc comes from the employees. Everyone is so friendly, and very enthusiastic when welcoming newbies like me. I like the way that the HR team supported me in detail: from how to get to the 8th floor in which elevator, where is the nearest gas station or convenience store,... especially, who is your buddy to help me with my first time with Cốc Cốc (I’m talking about you, Tuan Anh :D). And because of that friendliness, I can feel free to be myself at Cốc Cốc, publicly showing off an interest that I’ve never shown before: My love for the pink and Black Pink K-pop band (If you are a Blink, show me your hand!!!). This must be a surprise because I don’t look like much of a K-pop guy ^^.
And the colleagues at Cốc Cốc, their friendliness is off the chart, and so is their professionalism. It’s not an exaggeration to say that they are really talented and have good professional knowledge.
Here, I work in the Infrastructure and Support department, where every member has this big “power”, so big that we will have to be careful: from caring for the working devices: the keyboards, the monitors, the laptops,... to operating the servers of the whole company. To be a System Administrator Team member, we will guarantee the stability of the servers - 24/7. Besides that, we research, develop and enhance the services, and the products’ quality of Cốc Cốc.
Before becoming capable of completing a whole task, I was trained for 2 months, listened to and learned from seniors about professional knowledge, how to improve my soft skills: how to improve my work, and how to communicate with other colleagues,... In my team, the spirit of continuous learning and development is highly appreciated. Every quarter, each member will start preparing on a topic, based on their own OKR. Then, there will have their Friday Talks or internal sharing. This is how I and all other Cốc Cốc-ers promote the sharing culture, helping each other to be better, and grow more as an individual. This professional environment and exciting growing cultures make Cốc Cốc perfectly fit for a Gen Z like myself.
To sum up my Cốc Cốc journey until now, there are so many activities to be told. Recently, there was an activity for the National Digital Transformation program, in which I accompanied many of my colleagues to reach all 63 provinces of Vietnam, spreading the Cốc Cốc’s pride. I was lucky to have my fair share of this activity, in the “Digital Community Group”, I went north to the villages and met the minority people. Although traveling was difficult (we were stuck due to landslides), combining the pride of a Cốc Cốc-ers, with my enthusiasm for a Gen Z, I had fulfilled my duty 100% ^^. That was also the chance for me to know more about the “Serving Vietnamese” spirit of Cốc Cốc, which brought that up north and reached many people. I was able to experience great food and northern drinks that made me so drunk :))) and received the welcome of all the people in the place. T.T I was still emotional about that.
Although my time at Cốc Cốc has been long, I’ve learned so much, having many priceless experiences with the pride of “Vietnamese Browser and Search Engine, by the people, for the people”. Thank you all Cốc Cốc for doing your best for that pride, and I do hope that in the future, I will contribute more significantly to the development of Cốc Cốc.
Cốc Cốc rules!”
